The Air Force General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army is located at Xidiaoyutai, Fucheng Road, Haidian District, Beijing. To the east, it is adjacent to the towering CCTV transmission tower and the rippling Yuyuantan Park, and to the southwest, it is surrounded by the clear and winding Kunyu River. Currently, it covers a total area of 150,000 square meters with a total building area of approximately 300,000 square meters. The hospital was founded in May 1950 and officially opened on October 25, 1956. It is the birthplace of New China's military aviation medicine. It mainly undertakes the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, research and medical appraisal tasks of aviation diseases and common diseases for Air Force flight personnel; undertakes the physical examination and selection tasks of reserve astronauts; undertakes health rehabilitation and disease treatment for Air Force troops and joint logistics troops; and also provides quality medical services to the people. It has developed into a large modern comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, research and preventive healthcare.
