The Sixth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital was established in November 2018, formerly the Navy General Hospital. It is a medical center integrating health service, medical treatment, teaching, research, and healthcare. It undertakes medical and scientific research tasks for over 60,000 military personnel from 101 system units of the three services in Beijing, about 18,000 Navy special duty personnel including divers, submariners, and aviators, and healthcare tasks for over 5,000 division-level and above cadres. It has 56 professional departments, including 5 national clinical key specialties (hyperbaric oxygen, neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and submarine and aviation medicine), 1 PLA Institute of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, and 4 PLA medical specialty centers. Annual outpatient and emergency visits exceed 1.3 million, with 15,000 annual surgeries. It has 191 associate senior and above professionals, 119 doctoral and master's supervisors, 38 people enjoying government special allowances, and 59 enjoying military outstanding professional and technical talent position allowances.
