Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, formerly Guangzhou Maternity and Infant Hospital and Guangzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, was founded in 1946 and is located on Renmin Middle Road. It was officially named Guangzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital in 1963, passed the national tertiary Grade A maternal and child health hospital evaluation in 1997, and is now an affiliated hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and a teaching base for the Department of Maternal and Child Health at Sun Yat-sen Medical University. The hospital has a building area of 14,926.5 square meters and currently has 587 staff members, with medical and technical personnel accounting for 78.4%, including 11.1% with senior technical titles and 18.9% with intermediate technical titles. The hospital's external business departments include outpatient department, inpatient department, medical technology department and healthcare department. The outpatient department offers obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, andrology, traditional Chinese medicine, stomatology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, rehabilitation, and cosmetic surgery, with over 30 specialized disease clinics including high-risk pregnancy, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of endocrine diseases, reproductive health, gynecological tumors, infertility, sexually transmitted diseases, pediatric neurology, pediatric hematology, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric rehabilitation, allergology, and neonatal congenital metabolic disease specialty. Multi-level healthcare clinics are offered, including male and female marriage healthcare, adolescent healthcare, menopause healthcare, early pregnancy, perinatal health examination and monitoring, eugenics genetic counseling, prenatal diagnosis, 42-day postpartum mother-infant rehabilitation, child rehabilitation, child psychological and behavioral consultation, intelligence testing, child growth and development monitoring, child nutrition evaluation and guidance, and specialized clinics for rickets, zinc deficiency, anemia, and dental caries.
