Shenzhen Liuhua Hospital was established in 1981 during the early development of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, originally as the Wenjindu Outpatient Department of Guangzhou Military Region Liuhua Hospital. In September 1985, it was officially renamed Shenzhen Liuhua Hospital by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The hospital has since established seven community health service centers including Lihu, Wenjin, Xinxiu, Shuibei, Longhu, Heping, and Pengsheng. Now a designated hospital under Shenzhen's medical insurance system, Liuhua Hospital has developed into a modern comprehensive Grade II-A hospital integrating medical treatment, prevention, teaching, rehabilitation, healthcare, and wellness services. As one of Shenzhen's 120 Emergency Center rescue hospitals, it has received numerous honors including "Top 100 Civilized Hospitals of Guangdong Province." Located in Luohu's commercial district, just five minutes from Luohu Railway Station, the hospital operates 28 clinical and technical departments with 200 beds and serves over 500,000 annual outpatient visits. The hospital has developed distinctive specialties including oncology rehabilitation clinics, traditional Chinese medicine "preventive treatment," acupuncture, pain management, and orthopedic treatments for cervical and lumbar spine conditions using CT-guided ozone nucleolysis. In October 2009, the hospital officially became a "Cooperative Partnership Hospital" with Guangzhou Military Region General Hospital, receiving ongoing technical support.
