In 1999, it was designated as one of Shanghai's first batch of loving care for the elderly characteristic bases. In 2001, the hospital was rated as Shanghai Standardized Community Health Service Center, Shanghai Health System Civilized Unit, and has won district civilized unit for nine consecutive sessions and district comprehensive management advanced unit for four consecutive sessions. It is one of Shanghai Second Medical University's general practice medicine community training bases and has been rated as Shanghai Aging Work Advanced Unit, Shanghai Smoke-Free Unit, Jing'an District Green Hospital, and other honorary titles. The hospital has always adhered to the mission of patients first, quality first, service first, and the hospital spirit of "unity, pioneering, dedication, and progress," actively developing community health services. Through establishing health service stations, providing home services, establishing family beds, etc., it strives to provide community residents with "six-in-one" services integrating medical treatment, prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation, health education, and family planning guidance. It has certain characteristics especially in community elderly healthcare. The hospital's "community elderly healthcare" has been rated as Shanghai medical leading specialty, having undergone two cycles of research projects and achieved certain results. At the same time, the center has terminal cancer wards and geriatric nursing wards, mainly treating geriatric nursing patients and terminal cancer patients, providing 24-hour life care and hospice care, deeply welcomed by patients and families. To adapt to the development of health services and community residents' demand for basic health services, the hospital completed relocation and new construction at the end of 2003. The newly built outpatient building's consultation rooms and wards embody the "people-oriented" concept in design, function, and layout. The waiting hall is spacious and bright, with clear signage for registration, payment, and pharmacy windows, touch-screen inquiry computers, electronic display screens, pre-examination consultation desks, etc., all complete. The infusion room is configured according to standards, making patients feel comfortable and pleasant. Wide corridors in the ward area, sturdy handrails, anti-slip flooring, barrier-free passages, bathrooms and bedsides equipped with warning and intercom devices, etc., all make patients feel convenient and safe. Currently, the hospital is actively creating a Shanghai healthy unit. All hospital cadres and staff are full of enthusiasm to continue advancing and strive to achieve new accomplishments.
