Putuo District Central Hospital is a state-owned non-profit medical institution built in 1957. It handles over 21,000 annual inpatient admissions, 6,000 surgeries, and over 1 million outpatient and emergency visits. As a large comprehensive Grade II Class A hospital, it serves as the Putuo Clinical Medical College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
