Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was built in 1954 and merged with Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Outpatient Department in August 1997. It is located at No. 274 Zhijiang Middle Road, Zhabei District, with an outpatient department at No. 1, Lane 67, Shimen First Road, Jing'an District (accessible by buses 41, 128, 104, 71, 48, 23, 24, 49, etc.). Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is a Grade III Class A comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine hospital with both traditional medicine characteristics and modern facilities. It is also the "Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Insomnia Medical Cooperation Center," "Shanghai Dietary Therapy Cooperation Center," and "Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Burn Medical Cooperation Center." It covers 18,300 square meters with a building area of 33,200 square meters, including 24,500 square meters of medical business premises. The main building is an 18-story inpatient building with advanced facilities and 300 approved beds. The Zhijiang Middle Road main hospital and Shimen Road outpatient department respectively have Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Expert Clinics and Shanghai Famous Veteran Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinics. The hospital's daily outpatient and emergency visits exceed 2,000, with bed utilization rate above 90%. Since its establishment 45 years ago, it has achieved 20 scientific research results, receiving National Traditional Chinese Medicine Major Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards and ministerial-level Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Progress Awards. The hospital has been repeatedly rated as a civilized unit of the municipal health system and municipal health bureau.
